Parent Views
Parents and carers can give their views of our school at any time of the school year and at the time of a school inspection using an online questionnaire called Parent View.
When our school is notified of its next Ofsted inspection, parents will be invited to give their views about the school to inspectors using the Parent View online facility as this has replaced Ofsted’s paper questionnaire. Please make sure we have your most up-to-date contact details.
Please register with an email address and a password at https://parentview.ofsted.gov.uk. Once your login has been activated, it only takes a few minutes to complete answers to 12 short questions about aspects such as bullying, the quality of teaching, level of homework, etc.
Your views are important in helping inspectors make a decision about our school, and to help us know what is going well and what could be improved.
If you do not have a computer or an email address or if you would like help to use Parent View, please come into school and ask at reception.

Parent and Carer Survey December 2024
In December of 2024, we carried out a survey of parent and carer views using the OFSTED parent questionnaire. We aim to do this at least once a year and sometimes more frequently if we feel we need parent or carer views on a specific issue.
If parents or carers have suggestions, feedback or concerns throughout the school year, they can always discuss these with school staff. The link here will take you to an overview of how to raise a concern.

As always, we appreciate the feedback our parents and carers provide and do our best to interpret the feedback and respond where we can.
An area identified for us to reflect on and try to further develop is that some of our parents and carers would appreciate more opportunities for their children to take part in more clubs and activities alongside the events happening in class and the visits and visitors we already have. As a result of this, the school will be looking into any opportunities we can get to extend the range of clubs and activities we can offer to our pupils and we have already increased the number of pupils we have attending lunchtime clubs run by our learning mentor. We currently have a dance club running after school one day a week and have historically (and hopefully will again) run clubs for lacrosse, squash and science amongst other things.
Another potential area for further develop is how the school keeps parents and carers informed of what their child will learn in the year. 84% of parents and carers felt that the school did this well but 9% did not feel this was effectively communicated.
In addition to our parent consultation meetings, we also offer termly curriculum meetings for all parents and carers and upload relevant overview documents and knowledge organisers onto our Curriculum and Class pages on the school website (https://www.netherthorpe.sheffield.sch.uk/page/curriculum/23074 and https://www.netherthorpe.sheffield.sch.uk/classes). Class teachers are also readily available to speak with parents and carers after school on the playground to take any questions about pupil learning. However, we will continue to develop and enhance the information we provide about pupil learning and the communication about how parents and carers can access this.
