Consent for Visits
As part of our broad and balanced curriculum, which is a legal requirement, we regularly go on trips and visits that link with a range of subjects, including: Maths, English, Art, Music, P.E., Science, History and Geography. We aim to provide children with enriching experiences as least three times a year as a minimum that will help embed and deepen learning. In addition, we regularly visit places in the local area, such as the Ponderosa, Weston Park and the swimming pool at Zest.
Rather than constantly printing our reply slips and asking parents and carers for permission for every individual trip, we have extended what is classed as our 'local area' to include anywhere within Sheffield that we can travel to and from during school hours: this will include using a variety of modes of transport, although we try to walk whenever possible. We have asked all existing parents to sign this consent form and all new parents are asked to sign when their child enters school. We request that this permission is then resigned at the start of each academic year.
This consent is not applicable for children in our F1 (Nursery) - we will still ask for written permission for every visit. We will also also continue to ask for written permission for longer journeys that go beyond Sheffield and/or finish beyond the end of the school day.
For overnight residentials to Whirlow Farm and Thornbridge, there are several permissions and sets of information that are required form parents and carers.
We will, of course, continue to inform you of every trip in advance.
