Personal, Social and Emotional Development

The PSED is vital in Nursery, and underpins everything we do.  Staff establishing routines and boundaries for the new children as well as reminding the older children of the expectations. There is an emphasis on sharing, taking turns and modeling how to play kindly with others.

We have developed an Emotional Coach approach to support children to be able to express their feeling and begin to understand the feelings of others.  We use visuals to support children, who do not yet have the language skills, so explain 'What has happened?' and 'How shall we make it better?'
