Reading
In year six, the children have reciprocal reading sessions. Typically lasting between forty minutes and one hour, the sessions address one particular type of question each lesson. The text types link either to the literacy or topic.
In addition, some children may also have interventions (Dockside, Inference training or small group sessions).
Children are expected to read every day and be able to talk about what they have read. They should be reading 90 words per minute on a range of age-related texts. Children can borrow books from the school library and will be assigned books on Bug Club.
