Literacy

This half term we will be focussing on Handa's Surprise. We will be learning about African animals and fruits. We will use Rainbow Talk to describe the story, sequence the story using sequence adverbs, write lists and write sentences about the story. We will end the half term by learning about Easter traditions. We will look at how Easter is celebrated by Christians. We will be tasting hot cross buns and having an Easter egg hunt in the school garden. Continous provision will give opportuntities for children to act out the stories using puppets, masks and small world.

Throughout the term we will continue to have our seasonal stories. We will be focussing on Spring and the stories and songs will reflecting the changing seasons.
