Welcome back to Netherthorpe Primary School. I hope you all had a restful holiday and a wonderful New Year. My New Year's resolution, which I shared with the childnre in assembly this morning, is to get better at using our website. This includes updating this blog more regularly (which shouldnt be too hard to achieve)!
During this term it is our aim to start to use the parent log in sectionof the website - thank you for your patience with this and also a gentle reminder to any parents who haven't provided emails yet, please do so that you can all access homework for your child.
Yesterday was the fourth of our INSET days. We spent it by participating in developing our understanding of Autism further and had some excellent training from our school's Educational Psychologist, Abigail Barragry. If you would like any information about autism and how to help children out of school, please do not hesitate to speak to our SEN Co, Laura Hammond, your class teacher or me.
We also spent some of the day discussing safeguarding procdeures in school and making sure that we are all up to date with the latest safeguarding advice and policies for the DfE and Sheffield LA. Once again, if you would like any further information, we keep a hard copy of all school's policies in the school office. There are also links to some of these policies on this website and an additional link to the Sheffield Safeguarding website.
It was lovely to see the children today - they were all eager to come back to carry on learning, which is fantastic.
We have got a busy half term as always, which includes a visit from a theatre company who will be performing The Snow Queen on 20 January, as well as other trips and visits.
