Homework is handed out on Friday and expected in on Thursday, and will normally include times tables and spelling, as well as other projects at different times. However, the most important task to do at home is reading! You need to be reading every night - it improves your learning, increases your vocabulary and it's fun! Please help us monitor how much your child is reading by ensuring their reading diaries are kept up to date.

Spelling homework

Children will be given a personal list of spellings to practise, taken from spelling rules we have been learning in class or spelling errors made during the week. Children will then use the "Spell Well" leaflet to choose how they want to practise. They will test each other every morning using their Spelling Zappers. If you misplace the leaflet, can download a copy from the link at the bottom of this page.

Maths homework

Each Thursday, children will be given maths homework focusing on revising the four operations (addition, subtraction, multiplication and division). To begin with, they will be given particular questions to focus on; by the end of the year, they will be expected to complete the whole sheet. It is important that is completed by Thursday, when it will be marked together as a class.
