COVID-19 Information
Please support school and sheffield by downloading the NHS app.
IT IS NOW POSSIBLE FOR PARENTS AND CARERS TO GET LATERAL FLOW DEVICE TESTS FOR THEMSELVES. THESE ARE AVAILABLE FORM THE SHIPTON STREET CAR PARK NEAR ZEST FROM 1PM TO 7PM.
Please download the risk assessment for Covid-19 below for further information. We are now on version 12 (Mar 2021).
During the latest lock-down we were able to open the school to around 100 children across all year groups, including Nursery, and so we have continued to use the principles from that time and from the first lockdown and apply them to the wider opening of the school.
Children are learning in bubbles of no more than 60 children - please keep reading for further details about this and also see the letters and information for parents and carers that are linked to this page.
We are following Public Health and Sheffield Health guidelines which are created from the ongoing and ever-changing government guidance in order to follow best practice in keeping our children as safe as possible. Although it cannot be guaranteed that no one in school will catch Covid-19, we are all working extremely hard to keep our children and staff as safe as possible. We will continue to review and amend our practice very regularly.

Parents and carers can help us by doing the following things:
- Bring children to school on time and collect then on time - DO NOT BE LATE.
Children must be collected by a parent or carer or another agreed adult with children in the same class. Children will not be allowed to go home with children other than this - COLLECT YOUR OWN CHILDREN.
- There is a one way system in operation in the main playground - please ENTER AND EXIT THROUGH THE CORRECT GATE to avoid congestion and possible transmission of the virus.
- Parents and carers MUST MAINTAIN SOCIAL DISTANCING ON THE PLAYGROUND. Unfortunately, for the foreseeable future, parents will not be allowed to enter the school building (apart to visit the school office) without an appointment. ADULTS MUST WEAR A FAOVE MASK IF ATTENDING A MEETING OR IF ENTERING SCHOOL TO GO TO THE SCHOOL OFFICE.
- Hand sanitisers and tissues are available within school, however, it would help if children could bring their own - PLEASE SUPPLY YOUR CHILDREN WITH HAND SANITISER AND TISSUES IF POSSIBLE.
- School dinners must be paid for weekly, not on a day by day basis - this will help to limit staff touching money which could transmit Covid-19. (We are looking to move to a cashless system as soon as possible.) A menu is available on the website: Click here. DINNER MONEY MUST BE BROUGHT TO SCHOOL IN AN ENVELOPE WITH THE CHILD'S NAME AND CLASS WRITTEN CLEARLY ON THE FRONT.
Cars may not be parked on the double yellow lines outside the school – this is illegal and will make leaving the school building more dangerous. If parents/carers park illegally, school will take number plates and inform the police if necessary. Advice from Sheffield Council is to walk as much as possible – DO NOT PARK ILLEGALLY, PLEASE WALK TO SCHOOL IF AT ALL POSSIBLE FOR THE HEALTH AND SAFETY OF OUR CHILDREN.
Milk money must be paid in advance. Milk for this term is £13.30, which will last your child up until December 2020. Money should be paid in an envelope with the child’s name and class written clearly on the front.
School uniform should be worn by children, apart from the days that they have PE when they may come in a PE kit. Information about when PE is and also on the content of this term’s curriculum for each year group will be sent home over the next week and will be available on the school website.
It is essential that school has up to date contact information in case of emergency, including your child developing symptoms of Covid-19. Therefore you must make sure that you UPDATE AND RETURN THE FORM WE SEND HOME WITH YOUR CONTACT DETAILS.
We will be spending as much time outdoors this half term and will not be following our usual curriculum. MAKE SURE THAT YOUR CHILD HAS A COAT AND SENSIBLE SHOES/BOOTS (depending on the weather) EVERY DAY.
We will be sending as little paper home as possible and will be sending you texts and emails regularly – MAKE SURE THAT YOU CHECK YOUR EMAILS REGULARLY SO THAT YOU ARE UP TO DATE WITH WHAT IS GOING ON IN SCHOOL.
If your child shows any symptoms of Covid-19, please follow the guidelines attached. If in doubt, please contact school for advice. IF YOUR CHILD IS ILL IN ANY WAY, YOU MUST INFORM SCHOOL IMMEDIATELY AND, WHEN APPROPRIATE, GET YOUR CHILD TESTED. This will help us all to minimise the risk of catching and spreading the virus.
